Find your Cambridge administrative zone first
Cambridge publishes a different timetable for each administrative zone. The zone changes the component variant and can also change the date or session. Ask your school or examination centre to confirm your zone; do not select one from your time zone or country location alone. Then match the complete component code on your statement of entry, such as 9700/12, against the tables below.
The four-digit number identifies the syllabus. The first digit after the slash identifies the paper, while the final digit identifies the component variant. For example, 9700/12 is Biology Paper 1, variant 2. The variant number is not always the same as the administrative-zone number.

How to use the subject tables
Each zone cell follows the same format: date · session · component code. AM means the morning session and PM means the afternoon session. The session is not a universal clock time. Your centre sets the local start time around Cambridge Key Times and must tell you when to arrive.
A full A Level entry can include AS components as well as the additional A Level components, depending on the subject and entry route. Do not copy only the rows labelled “A Level” into your calendar. Check every component on your statement of entry.
Cambridge International AS and A Level Mathematics 9709 timetable
Mathematics candidates take different combinations of Pure Mathematics, Mechanics and Probability and Statistics papers. Use your confirmed component entries rather than assuming that every Mathematics candidate sits all six papers.

Cambridge AM and PM sessions and Key Times
AM and PM are examination sessions, not fixed worldwide start times. Cambridge assigns each centre a morning Key Time and an afternoon Key Time. Candidates must be under Full Centre Supervision at the relevant Key Time. If an exam finishes before the Key Time, supervision continues until the Key Time; if it starts after the Key Time, supervision applies from the Key Time until the exam begins. Check your exact local start and arrival times with your centre and read Cambridge’s Key Times guidance.
The durations shown already include any reading time stated for the question paper or time to study maps and other materials. Cambridge’s final timetable says centres must not add separate reading time unless another approved arrangement applies.
What to do about timetable clashes
Build one personal timetable containing every component code across all your subjects. If two components fall in the same session, tell your exams officer. Cambridge states that candidates may have a fully supervised break between two papers in one session, subject to the Key Time and Full Centre Supervision rules. Your centre will confirm the exact order and arrangements after entries and the official clash report have been checked.
How to build your personal revision timetable
Start with your statement of entry. For each component, record the full code, date, AM or PM session, duration, venue, local start time and required arrival time. This prevents confusion between papers that share the same syllabus code but use different variants.
Next, highlight days with two papers and periods with several exams close together. Complete the main content revision for those papers early. Use the short gaps during the examination series for reviewing errors, practising a small number of targeted questions and refreshing key methods rather than trying to relearn an entire topic.
Practise each paper using its correct duration. After every timed paper, classify the marks lost through knowledge gaps, weak application, calculation errors, poor evaluation or unfinished answers. Let that diagnosis decide the next revision task.
Frequently asked questions
When are the Cambridge International AS and A Level October November 2026 exams?
The final Cambridge timetable begins on 28 September 2026. Zones 1-5 continue to 13 November, while Zone 6 continues to 12 November. The exact span of your personal timetable depends on your subjects, components and administrative zone.
Is this the final Cambridge November 2026 timetable?
Yes. Check the official timetables page and messages from your centre for any later update.
Are Cambridge AS Level and A Level exam dates the same in every country?
No. Cambridge uses administrative zones. Dates, sessions and component variants can differ between zones, which is why you must use the timetable assigned to your centre.
How do I know which component variant I am taking?
Use your statement of entry or personal timetable from your centre. The last digit of a code such as 9701/12 identifies the variant. Do not choose a variant from the subject name alone.
Does AM mean my exam starts in the morning?
AM identifies Cambridge’s morning examination session. Your actual local clock time depends on the Key Time and the arrangements set by your centre. In some locations, the local start may not feel like a conventional morning time.
Do full A Level candidates also sit AS papers?
They can, depending on the subject and entry route. For staged assessment, AS components may have been completed in an earlier series. For a linear full A Level entry, the candidate may take AS and A Level components in the same series. Your confirmed entry codes provide the definitive answer.
Where can I find subjects not listed in this guide?
Use the official zone PDF linked above. Each PDF contains a complete A-Z syllabus view covering the other Cambridge International AS and A Level subjects available in that zone.
Where can I find my exact start time?
Your school or examination centre must give you the exact start time, finish time, venue and any supervision arrangements. Use the AM or PM label in this guide only after your centre has confirmed the local schedule.
Final checks before your first exam
Confirm your administrative zone, compare every full component code with your statement of entry, add the correct AM or PM session, obtain the local start and arrival times from your centre, and report any apparent clash. Recheck your centre’s instructions shortly before each paper.
