Edexcel IGCSE Exam Timetable 2027 Summer Dates by Subject
The Pearson Edexcel International GCSE Summer 2027 timetable is final. The scheduled exams run from Monday 10 May to Friday 18 June 2027. Your own first and last exams depend on your subjects, papers and assessment route.
Use the subject tables below to find your dates, check your paper codes and plan your revision. This guide covers the May–June 2027 Edexcel IGCSE exam series, including Maths, English, sciences, Business, Economics, humanities and languages.
Before copying a date: confirm your qualification, paper code and route. Edexcel GCSE and Edexcel IGCSE have different timetables. IGCSE students may also take regional R papers or modular units.

How to read these tables
Every date below is in 2027. AM means the published morning session; PM means the published afternoon session. These session labels do not tell international students their local arrival time.
The main subject tables show non-R paper codes. The modular section lists modular units separately. For regional papers, use the R-paper guidance below and match the full code on your entry confirmation. In each table, the last column gives session · exam length. For example, “AM · 2h” means a morning paper lasting two hours. Your centre will confirm your start time, arrival time and any approved extra time.
Maths and Further Pure Maths
Edexcel IGCSE Maths A 2027 exam dates
Maths A Paper 1 is on Friday 14 May, and Paper 2 is on Thursday 27 May 2027. Both papers last two hours. Foundation and Higher papers share the same dates and published morning session.

Paper 2 Foundation — 4MA1/2F | Thu 27 May | AM · 2h |
Paper 2 Higher — 4MA1/2H | Thu 27 May | AM · 2h |
Choose the rows for your tier. The table shows alternatives, not four papers that every Maths A student must take. Modular Maths A students should use the modular section.
Maths B and Further Pure Maths
Maths B has different dates and durations from Maths A. Check whether your qualification code is 4MA1 or 4MB1before adding exams to your calendar.

Regional R papers
Pearson publishes a separate timetable for regional R papers. These are alternative regional papers, not a different tier. Your centre must confirm which version you are entered for.
Examples include Maths A 4MA1/1HR and Biology 4BI1/1BR. Keep the R in your calendar entry so that your code matches your personal timetable.
The corresponding R entries in the final Summer 2027 timetable have the same dates, published sessions and durations as their non-R counterparts listed here. However, not every subject has an R paper, and this does not establish your local start time. Do not add an R to a code yourself.
Use Pearson’s final Summer 2027 R-paper timetable to verify the exact entry. If your subject or component does not appear there, check the main timetable and ask your centre.
Exam start times and clashes
What time do Edexcel IGCSE exams start
For UK centres, Pearson gives published starts of 9:00 am for morning exams and 1:30 pm for afternoon exams, with permitted centre adjustments. Follow the time your centre gives you.
For international centres, use the relevant local start-time guidance and your centre’s personal timetable. Do not simply convert 9:00 am UK time into your local timezone. Pearson directs international centres to its international exam start-time guidance.
Ask your centre to confirm your arrival time as well as your exam start time. They are not necessarily the same.
What if two exams are in the same session
Contact your exams officer as soon as you notice the overlap. Your centre must arrange how the papers will be taken and explain any supervision requirements. Do not choose one paper, change your attendance time or assume that one entry is a mistake.
For example, History Paper 1 and Accounting Paper 1 are both on Thursday 20 May in the morning. Students entered for both should raise this with their centre.
Which days could be especially busy
These combinations have exams in both sessions. They are useful revision-planning alerts; your own timetable may include other combinations.
Date | Morning → afternoon |
Wed 12 May | English Literature Paper 1 → Business Paper 1 |
Tue 18 May | Geography Paper 1 → Chemistry Paper 1 |
Wed 19 May | English Literature Paper 2 → Further Pure Maths Paper 1 |
Tue 25 May | Physics Paper 1 → Economics Paper 2 |
If you take both subjects on one of these dates, complete the main preparation for both beforehand. Keep the gap between exams for food, travel within the centre and a short review.
How to plan revision around your exam dates
Build your personal timetable first
Copy only your confirmed papers. For each entry, record the full paper code, date, local arrival time, start time and location. Add speaking appointments and practical sittings once your centre confirms them.
Then sort everything by date. A subject-by-subject list helps you find papers; a chronological list reveals your busiest days.
Prepare early for the opening week
Students taking English Literature, Business, Economics and Maths A can have exams on three consecutive days from 12 to 14 May. Avoid leaving a whole subject until the previous exam is over.
Work backwards from your first paper. Leave time to complete a timed practice, mark it, identify weaknesses and revisit those weaknesses before exam day.
Keep later papers in your revision plan
Separate-science students have several weeks between Paper 1 and Paper 2. Use the gap, but keep Paper 2 preparation active before Paper 1 is finished. Otherwise, a long-looking gap can quickly fill with English, Maths, humanities and other exams.
Use the correct duration for timed practice
Match the code and route before setting a timer. For example, linear Biology Paper 1 lasts two hours, while modular Biology Unit 1 lasts one hour and forty minutes. Practising with the wrong time limit can give you a misleading impression of your pace.
Confirm your actual final commitment
Your last written paper may be earlier than 18 June. Before booking travel, ask your centre whether you have any remaining practical, speaking, assessment or contingency commitments.
Frequently asked questions
When do Edexcel IGCSE exams start in Summer 2027?
The published timetable begins on Monday 10 May 2027. Your first exam depends on your entries, and centre-arranged assessments need to be checked separately.
When do Edexcel IGCSE exams finish in Summer 2027?
The final scheduled papers in the timetable are on Friday 18 June 2027. Check your own last paper and any other required availability with your centre.
Is the Summer 2027 Edexcel IGCSE timetable final?
Yes. Pearson labels both its main International GCSE timetable and its regional R-paper timetable FINAL. Recheck the official download before the series in case Pearson issues an update.
Are May June 2027 and Summer 2027 the same exam series?
Yes: both refer to the International GCSE series Pearson labels Summer 2027. This timetable is separate from the November series.
Are GCSE and IGCSE dates the same?
Use the timetable for your exact qualification. Pearson publishes GCSE and International GCSE schedules separately; similar subject names do not establish that the dates are interchangeable.
Do Foundation and Higher Maths A have different dates?
No. In the final Summer 2027 timetable, both tiers have Paper 1 on 14 May and Paper 2 on 27 May, in the morning. Select your entered tier and paper version.
Is there an exam free week at the start of June?
Do not assume so. The International GCSE timetable includes exams from 1 to 4 June, including Accounting Paper 2 and several language and country-studies papers. Check your own subjects before treating this period as a break.
When is Edexcel IGCSE results day in 2027
The exam timetable directs readers to Pearson’s key-date information for results dates rather than giving a results day in the schedule. Check Pearson’s Information Manual and your centre for the confirmed release date and collection arrangements.
Where can I download the official timetable
Download the main Summer 2027 International GCSE timetable or the Summer 2027 regional R-paper timetable. Pearson’s exam timetables page is the place to check for updated versions.
Before exam day, compare every entry in your calendar with your centre’s personal timetable: full code, date, local time and location. Resolve any difference with your exams officer.
