What does “R” mean on Edexcel papers?

An “R” paper (for example, 4EA1/01R or 4EA1/02R) is a regional or reserve version of the same exam.

It:

• Tests the same skills

• Uses the same mark scheme structure

• Is equally valid for revision and exam practice

If you’re revising, both versions are equally useful — practising more questions is always an advantage.
