OCR Exam Timetable 2027: Summer GCSE, AS and A Level Dates
Looking for your OCR summer 2027 exam dates? Start with your qualification and subject below, then match the paper codes against the timetable from your school or exam centre.
OCR’s GCSE written exams run from Monday 10 May to Friday 18 June 2027. The wider national AS and A Level exam window runs from Monday 10 May to Tuesday 22 June 2027, although your own OCR papers may finish earlier. Keep Wednesday 23 June 2027 available for the contingency day. These are the published summer-series arrangements, not the dates of school mock exams.
Before adding a date to your calendar, check four things: your exam board, qualification, specification code and tier or option. A matching subject name alone is not enough.

Event | Date | What students should do |
First exams on the GCSE and AS/A Level common timetable | Monday 10 May 2027 | Find your own first paper; it may be later. |
Last GCSE exam date on the common timetable | Friday 18 June 2027 | Check all your other qualifications before assuming you have finished. |
Last AS/A Level exam date on the common timetable | Tuesday 22 June 2027 | This is the national window, not a statement that every OCR course ends on this date. |
Contingency day | Wednesday 23 June 2027 | Keep both morning and afternoon available. |
AS and A Level results day | Thursday 12 August 2027 | Check your school’s collection or online-access arrangements. |
GCSE results day | Thursday 19 August 2027 | Check when and how your centre will issue your results. |
Your last scheduled exam and the last day you must remain available are different dates. Avoid booking travel that would prevent you attending a rearranged exam on the contingency day.

How to read your OCR exam timetable
What do AM and PM mean?
Timetable label | Published start time |
AM | 9:00am |
PM | 1:30pm |
Your centre can adjust the start within the permitted session. Follow the reporting time on your personal timetable, which may be earlier than the exam start. Durations below are the standard paper lengths, before any approved extra time.
What is a paper code?
A code identifies the exact exam. For example, J560/04 identifies OCR GCSE Mathematics, Higher tier, Paper 4. Writing only “Maths exam” in your calendar makes it harder to check which paper and equipment you need.
Use a calendar entry such as:
Friday 14 May — OCR GCSE Maths J560/04 — AM — calculator — 1 hour 30 minutes.
Then add your centre’s arrival time, room and any personal arrangements.
How to use the tables below
Every date below is in 2027. AM means morning and PM means afternoon. Where a row lists alternative paper codes, use only the code or option on your entry statement. You do not take every alternative shown.
OCR GCSE Maths and English exam dates 2027
OCR GCSE Maths: J560
Date | Session | Foundation tier | Higher tier | Calculator? | Duration |
Friday 14 May | AM | J560/01 — Paper 1 | J560/04 — Paper 4 | Yes | 1h 30m |

Monday 14 June | AM | J560/03 — Paper 3 | J560/06 — Paper 6 | Yes | 1h 30m |
OCR Maths starts with a calculator paper. The non-calculator exam is the second sitting. When organising practice papers, label them by code rather than assuming “Paper 1” means non-calculator.
OCR GCSE English Language: J351
Paper | Date | Session | Duration |
J351/01 | Monday 24 May | AM | 2h |
J351/02 | Tuesday 8 June | AM | 2h |

What if two exams are at the same time?
Tell your school’s exams officer as soon as you notice a clash. Send the two paper codes, date and session so they can check your entries and explain the arrangements.
Do not decide yourself which exam to attend first. Your centre must organise any change under the applicable rules and tell you what to do. You may need supervision between papers.
Two exams on one day are not necessarily a clash: one might be in the morning and the other in the afternoon. However, they still create a demanding day. Identify those dates now and prepare both subjects in advance.
Coursework, practical work and assessments outside the written timetable
Use the written-exam tables alongside a second list of school-set assessment and submission dates. Ask your teachers about any coursework, performances, practical assessments, speaking assessments or other non-exam components that apply to your subjects.
For each one, record:
What you need to complete.
Your personal submission or assessment date.
Where and how to submit or attend.
Who to contact if anything is unclear.
Do not treat an exam board’s deadline for centres as your own coursework deadline. Ask your teacher for the date you must meet.
OCR directs centres to its key-dates information for components taken within a range of dates.
Entry deadlines and access arrangements
These dates are useful for planning, especially if you are a private candidate. Your school or centre may require information or payment earlier.
Administrative milestone | Published deadline | Student action |
Modified-paper orders through Access Arrangements Online | 31 January 2027 | Raise any requirements with your centre well in advance. |
GCSE and GCE entries | 21 February 2027 | Confirm your subjects, specifications, tiers and options. |
Access-arrangement applications through Access Arrangements Online | 21 March 2027 | Speak to your centre’s relevant support staff early. |
If you are entering privately, ask the centre to confirm in writing what it can offer for your chosen qualification, including any non-exam assessment requirements. Also request its own booking deadline, fees and cancellation terms.
How to turn your exam dates into a useful revision plan
1. Make one calendar for all your exam boards
You might take OCR for Science, another board for Maths and a third for English. Put all your confirmed papers into one calendar so you can see the real workload.
Use these columns:
Date | Arrival time | Subject and code | Duration | Room | Equipment or reminders |
Copy from your confirmed timetable | Copy from your centre | Include the exact paper | Include approved arrangements | Check with school | Calculator, transport or other instructions |
2. Identify your busiest stretches
Look for consecutive exam days, two-paper days and subjects with a very short gap between papers. These are the areas where preparation before the exam season matters most.
For example, if you have a morning paper followed by a different subject that afternoon, do not plan to learn the afternoon subject in the lunch break. Aim to have both ready the previous evening.
3. Plan by paper rather than just subject
Replace “revise History” with a task such as “complete a timed source question for my British period-study paper, mark it and rewrite the weakest paragraph”.
A useful revision block has three parts: attempt, check, improve. Reading notes can support that process, but it should not be the only task on the timetable.
4. Keep later papers active
Prioritise your next exam without allowing later subjects to disappear from your plan. A short retrieval session for a later paper can keep knowledge fresh while most of your time goes towards the nearest assessment.
5. Leave room for correction
After a timed practice paper, set aside a separate session to work through errors. Record whether each lost mark came from missing knowledge, misunderstanding the question, an incomplete explanation or timing. Your next revision task should address that specific problem.
Your final exam-day checklist
The evening before each paper:
Check the date, paper code, arrival time and venue against your personal timetable.
Pack the equipment your centre has told you to bring.
Check calculator requirements for that particular paper.
Plan transport, allowing for delays.
Follow the centre’s instructions about identification, phones, watches and other belongings.
If you are unwell or face an emergency, contact your centre promptly for advice.
Ask your centre about any uncertainty before exam day. A quick check is much easier than discovering the problem at the exam-room door.
OCR exam timetable 2027: frequently asked questions
Is the OCR summer 2027 timetable final?
Yes. OCR publishes the June 2027 GCSE and AS/A Level documents as final timetables. Check its timetable hub for any subsequent corrections and use your centre’s personal timetable for attendance arrangements.
When are OCR GCSE Maths exams in 2027?
The dates are 14 May, 27 May and 14 June 2027, all in the morning. The first and third sittings allow a calculator; the second does not. Foundation and Higher students have different paper codes.
When are OCR A Level Maths exams in 2027?
Mathematics A and Mathematics B (MEI) are scheduled for 26 May, 9 June and 16 June 2027, all in the afternoon. Check H240 versus H640 when choosing practice papers.
Can I go on holiday after my last paper?
Keep yourself available through Wednesday 23 June 2027, the contingency day, even if your own timetable finishes earlier.
Is the contingency day a resit if I miss an exam?
It is reserved for disruption affecting the examination system, rather than a routine individual make-up sitting. If you miss or may miss a paper, contact your centre immediately.
When will I receive my results?
AS and A Level results day is 12 August 2027; GCSE results day is 19 August 2027. Ask your centre how you will receive them and what support will be available.
Why is my subject missing from the tables above?
This guide highlights commonly taken subjects and selected AS courses. Search your exact qualification code in the relevant official PDF linked near the top. If you still cannot locate the component, ask your exams officer to confirm its arrangements.
Which timetable should I use if two sources disagree?
Ask your exams officer to resolve the discrepancy against the latest official OCR timetable. Send screenshots or links showing the conflict. Do not guess, particularly where the difference concerns a date, session, tier or component code.
